Convert Image JPG PNG WEBP

An Android app that turns HEIC, PNG and WebP photos into JPG for forms, transparent PNG or small WebP, saved as new files. It converts whole batches on your device without uploading anything.

Google Play SugarConvert

Use it to

What it does

Use it when a form only accepts JPG, a logo has to be delivered as a transparent PNG, or shop photos need to become small WebP files. Your original photos stay as they are; results are saved as new files.

  1. Pick photos — use the Android photo picker or “Pick from files”. Photos picked from files keep their original name with the new extension. Tap a photo if it should be saved in a format of its own.
  2. Choose the format and options — only the options for the chosen format appear: quality and the colour behind transparent areas for JPEG, whether to keep transparency for PNG, lossy or lossless plus quality for WebP. The long edge, black & white and file naming are set here too, with a preview.
  3. Check, then save or share — compare the original and the result side by side, then save or share. Saved photos go to the Pictures/SugarConvert folder as new files.

Presets

JPG for forms
Quality 90, transparent areas filled with white.
WebP for the web
Quality 80, long edge reduced to 1920 px.
Transparent PNG
Keeps the transparency of logos and graphics.
Black & white JPG
Removes colour for documents and print.

Profiles and run history

Save a format, quality, size and naming rule under a name of your choice and reapply it from the home screen in one tap. Up to 8 profiles can be saved. The recent run history (date, counts, format, sizes) stays on the device and never records file names.

One failed photo never stops the rest, and you can retry only the failed ones. The result screen shows the real file size before and after, and says so when a file got larger.

At a glance

PriceFree with ads. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes ads and raises the batch limit.
Input formatsJPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF. HEIC is converted when your device can decode it; a photo it cannot read fails on its own.
Output formatsJPEG, PNG, WebP (lossy or lossless). Any photo can get its own format, and the extension always matches the format actually written.
Quality40–100 for JPEG and lossy WebP (default 90). PNG and lossless WebP do not use it.
TransparencyJPEG fills transparent areas with the colour you pick (white, black or gray). PNG and WebP keep transparency or fill it, your choice.
ResolutionKept by default. The long edge can be reduced to 1280, 1920, 2560 px or a value you enter (320–8000 px). Photos are never enlarged.
MetadataLocation and camera data (EXIF) are not copied into results. The photo’s orientation is applied.

What it cannot do

Questions

Can I convert HEIC photos from an iPhone to JPG?

Yes, when your device can decode HEIC, the app converts it to JPG. The “JPG for forms” preset saves it at quality 90. A HEIC photo the device cannot read fails on its own, and the rest of the batch continues.

What are converted files named?

Photos picked with “Pick from files” keep their original name with the new extension. The Android photo picker does not tell apps the file name, so photos picked there are saved as SugarConvert plus the save time.

What happens to the transparent background when a PNG becomes a JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick: white by default, or black or gray. To keep transparency, save as PNG or WebP.

Are my photos uploaded?

No, photos are never uploaded and are converted on your device only. See Data and permissions.
