About SugarMount
SugarMount is an Android app brand run by simpest, an independent developer, making small apps that each do one job. Ten of them are on Google Play, from a Korean spelling checker and an HWP viewer to photo tools and two puzzle games.
Who makes the apps
SugarMount is the developer name used by simpest, an independent developer, to publish apps on Google Play. Planning, development, releases and support are all done by the same person. It is not a company or a team.
The apps
As of October 18, 2026, ten apps are public on Google Play. Features, data handling and help articles are on the SugarMount apps list and each app's page.

How the apps are built and checked
- Built with an AI coding agent. The three photo apps, HWP Viewer SugarDoc and the two games were built with Anthropic's Claude Code. In their repositories, 195 of 212 commits (92%) carry an AI co-author line (git history, October 18, 2026). SugarSpeller has been updated the same way since August 2025. The agent writes code, tests and release scripts; a person decides ad placement, pricing and releases, and checks on real devices.
- Release builds run on a device before upload. The three photo apps and HWP Viewer SugarDoc go through a release gate (leftover test ad IDs, empty config, policy URLs), two launches of the shrunk release build, and end-to-end tests on a real device. Details are in the release check note.
- Policies come from the code. Privacy policies are written after checking each app's source code and SDK settings, and say nothing the code doesn't back.
- Numbers carry a source and a date. Numbers on this site come from the app repositories' git history, changelogs and device QA reports, with the date they were taken. What we could not verify, we leave out.
The process and the measured numbers are written up in the AX notes.
Principles
Photos and documents stay on the device
The apps that handle photos, videos and documents (Compress Image, Flip & Rotate Image, Convert Image, SugarAlbum, HWP Viewer SugarDoc) process files on the device without uploading them, and never modify or delete the originals.
No sign-up
None of the ten public apps has a sign-up or log-in screen. SugarSpeller creates an anonymous ID, not linked to any name or email, to count daily use of AI explanations.
Policies that match the code
Each app's privacy policy is written from its actual code, including what the ad and analytics SDKs send.
Privacy
What leaves the device differs by app. For example, SugarSpeller sends the text you check to the Naver or Daum (Kakao) spelling checker, while the photo apps send no photos. Each app's details are in the privacy policy list.
