Convert Image JPG PNG WEBP Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 22, 2026
This policy applies to the Android app Convert Image JPG PNG WEBP – SugarConvert (package name com.sugarmount.sugarconvert), published by simpest under the developer name SugarMount (“we”, “us”). It describes, based on the actual implementation, what data the app handles and what it does not.
1. Summary
| Data | How it is handled | Processed by |
|---|---|---|
| Photos and result files | Processed on your device only. Never uploaded. | Your device |
| File names, paths, EXIF and other metadata | Not collected or logged. | — |
| Advertising data (device identifiers, advertising ID, etc.) | May be collected by the Google AdMob SDK under Google's policies. You can choose in the consent screen (UMP). | |
| Anonymous usage stats | On by default. You can switch it off in Settings at any time. | Google (Firebase / Google Analytics) |
| Crash reports | On by default. You can switch it off in Settings at any time. | Google (Firebase Crashlytics) |
| Purchase details | Handled by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your payment details. | Google Play |
| Account information | Not collected. The app has no accounts. | — |
2. Photos and files
- Only the photos you pick through the Android photo picker are handed to the app. The app does not request permission to read your whole storage.
- Format conversion, previews and saving all happen on your device. Your photos, result files and file names are never sent to our servers or to any third party. We do not operate a server for this app.
- Original photos are never modified or deleted. Results are saved as new files only when you choose to save them.
- File names, paths, photo contents and EXIF data are never included in usage stats or crash reports.
3. Ads and ad consent
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve ads and prevent abuse, the ad SDK may collect and process the following under Google's policies:
- Device identifiers and the advertising ID
- IP address (which may be used to estimate the device's approximate location)
- Interactions with ads (impressions, clicks) and app usage information
- Diagnostic information (ad SDK performance and errors)
- Other items listed in the Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure
This data is collected and processed by Google; we do not access it directly. Please refer to Google's documentation for the exact items and purposes.
- Google Privacy Policy

Consent and changing your choice
- The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show an ad privacy consent screen where your region requires one. The app's free features keep working even if you do not consent.
- You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Ad privacy options.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings under Google > Ads.
- If you purchase Pro, the app no longer shows ads.
4. Usage stats and crash reports
Both options are on by default, and each can be switched off in the app's Settings. Neither ever includes your photos, file names or photo contents. Activity from while an option was off is not sent later, even if you turn it back on.
- Send anonymous usage stats (Firebase / Google Analytics)
- Sends minimal anonymous app usage events that help us see which steps fail, together with device information (model, OS version, app version, etc.). Photos, file names and photo contents are never included.
- Send crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
- When the app crashes or hits an error, sends technical crash details (the error, device model, OS version, app version, etc.). Photos, file names and photo contents are never included.
Turning an option off stops collection and sending from that point on. Data already sent is kept according to Google's retention settings; turning the option off in the app does not delete existing data on Google's servers. If you would like it deleted, please contact us below.
5. Pro purchase
- Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play Billing. Payment details such as your payment method, name and billing address are handled by Google Play and are not shared with us.
- The app only checks the purchase state provided by Google Play to remove ads and apply the larger batch limit.
- Refunds and purchase history follow Google Play's policies and procedures. Google Play Terms of Service
6. Accounts
The app does not create accounts or require sign-in. Because we hold no user accounts, there is no separate account deletion feature. Settings the app stores on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.
7. Retention and deletion
| Data | Retention | How to delete |
|---|---|---|
| App settings (recent settings, saved conversion profiles, run history (date, counts, format and sizes only, no file names), consent choices, and the launch count, completed-job count and last-ad time used to space out ads) | Stored on your device only, never sent anywhere | Deleted when you uninstall the app. |
| Converted photos (result files) | In your device's Pictures/SugarConvert folder, if you saved them | Delete them in your gallery or files app. |
| Usage stats and crash reports | According to Google's (Firebase) data retention settings | Turning the option off stops further sending. To request deletion of existing data, contact us. |
| Advertising data | According to Google's policies | You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings. |
8. Your rights
You can do the following yourself or by request:
- Turn usage stats and crash reports on or off at any time in the app's Settings
- Change your ad privacy choice in the app's Settings
- Ask us to access or delete data sent to Google using the contact details below. We handle what we can verify, and point you to Google's procedures for data that Google processes.
9. Third-party services used
| Service | Purpose | Information |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Ads in the free version | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Ad privacy consent screen | Google partner sites and apps |
| Firebase / Google Analytics | Anonymous usage stats (can be switched off in Settings) | Privacy and Security in Firebase |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports (can be switched off in Settings) | Privacy and Security in Firebase |

10. Processors and international transfers
We do not run servers of our own; we entrust data processing to the services below. They may process and store data outside the Republic of Korea (for example in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers). Photos, output files and file names are never transferred.
| Recipient | Items transferred | Purpose | When and how | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (Google AdMob, User Messaging Platform) | Device identifiers and advertising ID, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics and your ad consent choice (section 3) | Showing ads, preventing fraud, managing ad consent | Sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) when the free version loads ads; no ad requests are made after you buy Pro | According to Google's policies |
| Google LLC (Firebase Analytics) | App usage events listed in section 4, device information, app instance ID | Usage stats, finding the step where a job fails | Sent over HTTPS from time to time while you use the app; stops when switched off in Settings | According to Google's retention settings |
| Google LLC (Firebase Crashlytics) | Error details, device information, app version | Analysing and fixing errors | Sent over HTTPS when an error occurs; stops when switched off in Settings | According to Google's retention settings |
If you switch off usage stats and crash reports in Settings, nothing is transferred for them. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Pro purchases are processed by Google Play under its own policies; we only check the purchase state.
11. Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes, we update this page and its effective date.
October 22, 2026: added processors and international transfers (section 10) and the privacy officer (section 12). How the app handles data did not change.
