Arrow Knots Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026 · Policy version 1.2.1
This policy applies to version 1.1.0 and later of the Android game Arrow Knots: Untangle Puzzle (package name com.sugarmount.arrows), published by simpest under the developer name SugarMount (“we”, “us”). It describes, based on the actual implementation, what data the app handles and what it does not.
1. Summary
Starting with version 1.1.0, this game shows ads (Google AdMob, with Liftoff Monetize mediation) and offers in-app purchases through Google Play. To serve ads, the ad SDKs may process the advertising ID, device and network information and similar data. From version 1.2.1, to improve the game and measure ad campaigns, the app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics). We run no servers of our own, there are no accounts, and your game progress is stored on your device.
| Data | How it is handled | Handled by |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress (level, stars, best times and scores, settings, banked hints) | Stored only in the app's private storage on your device. Never sent anywhere. | Your device |
| Advertising data (advertising ID, device and network information, ad interactions, diagnostics) | May be collected and processed by the ad SDKs under each company's policies. Where required, you can choose in the consent screen (UMP). | Google, Liftoff |
| Purchase details | Handled by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your card or payment details. | Google Play |
| Usage analytics and crash reports (from version 1.2.1) | Firebase collects an app instance ID, device information, game events (tutorial completed, level numbers cleared and so on), ad impressions with their revenue value, and crash information. No names, contact details or other identifying information are sent. See section 3-1. | Google (Firebase) |
| Account information | Not collected; there are no accounts. | — |
| Other personal data (location permission, contacts, photos, etc.) | Not accessed and not collected. | — |
2. Permissions and internet access
The Android permissions the app uses, and what for:
- Vibration (VIBRATE): haptic feedback during play, for example when an arrow is blocked. You can turn vibration off in the pause menu.
- Internet (INTERNET) and network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): loading ads, showing the ad consent screen, and checking purchases with Google Play. The game itself can be played without an internet connection, and if ads cannot load, play simply continues with no penalty.
- Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) and the Android Privacy Sandbox permissions merged in by the ad SDKs (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): serving ads and measuring ad performance.
- Google Play Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): buying in-app products and restoring purchases.
- The ad SDKs also merge in technical permissions they need to run (WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE for background work, com.amazon.privacypass.ATTEST from the Liftoff SDK, and similar). None of these give access to personal data.
- The app does not request permissions such as location, contacts, camera, photos/storage or microphone. We do not run any servers for the app.
3. Ads and ad consent
The game shows ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and, through AdMob mediation, also receives ads from Liftoff Monetize (Vungle). Ads appear only in these formats:
- A banner ad at the bottom of the game screen
- Occasional interstitial ads, only after you clear a level and move on to the next one (never when you lose a level or in the middle of a level)
- Rewarded ads that play only when you choose them (continue after losing all hearts; get an extra hint)
- App open ads that may appear when you return to the app after leaving it
To serve ads, measure their performance and prevent abuse, the ad SDKs may collect and process the following under each company's policies:
- The advertising ID and device identifiers
- Device information (model, OS version, etc.) and network information (such as IP address, which may be used to estimate the device's approximate location)
- Interactions with ads (impressions, clicks)
- Diagnostic information (ad SDK performance and errors)
This data is collected and processed by Google and Liftoff; we do not access it directly. Please refer to each company's documentation for the exact items and purposes.

Consent and changing your choice
- The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show an ad privacy consent screen before loading ads where the law requires one (the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and similar). The game keeps working even if you do not consent.
- Where consent is required, the pause menu shows Privacy settings, where you can change your choice at any time. Where consent is not required, this item does not appear.
- In Android Settings under Google > Ads (or Privacy > Ads), you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads.
- If you buy Remove ads, the app no longer shows banner, interstitial or app open ads. Rewarded ads stay available as an option you can choose when you want.
3-1. Usage analytics and crash reports (Firebase, from version 1.2.1)
To tune the game's difficulty and flow, to measure whether players who come from ads (for example Google Ads) actually enjoy the game, and to fix crashes, the app uses Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- What is collected: an app instance ID created by Firebase, device information (model, OS version, language, country and region estimated from the IP address), app usage time and screen changes, and game events we define: tutorial completed, level numbers cleared for the first time with their stars, bonus mini game and daily puzzle results, coins earned and spent, and ad impressions with their format, ad source and revenue value. The advertising ID may also be used, depending on Google Analytics settings and your consent.
- Crash reports: when the app crashes, the crash location (stack trace), device state (memory, orientation and so on) and app version are sent to Crashlytics.
- What is not sent: no names, email addresses, phone numbers, location permission data, contacts, photos or your full game progress. We do not create user IDs.
- Use and sharing: only for the purposes above, and never sold. To measure ad campaigns, Google Analytics conversion data (for example tutorial completed, level 10 reached) may be linked to Google Ads. The data is processed by Google (Privacy and Security in Firebase).
- Consent: where consent is required by law, the choice you make on the ad consent screen (UMP) also applies to ad-related processing in Analytics.
4. In-app purchases
The app offers two one-time products through Google Play Billing:
- Remove ads (
remove_ads): removes banner, interstitial and app open ads and gives 10 hints. Rewarded ads remain optional. - 15 hints (
hint_pack_15): gives 15 hints.
- Payment details such as your payment method, card number, name and billing address are handled by Google Play and are not shared with us.
- The app only receives the purchase state and purchase token from Google Play to unlock the item. Whether you own Remove ads and how many hints you have are stored only on your device; Remove ads can be restored from Google Play.
- Refunds and purchase history follow Google Play's policies and procedures. Google Play Terms of Service
5. Accounts
The game does not create accounts or require sign-in. Because we hold no user accounts, there is no separate account deletion feature.
6. Feedback and reviews
- Tapping Send feedback in the pause menu opens your mail app with the recipient (sugarmount21@gmail.com), the app version, Android version and device model filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself, and we only receive what you choose to send. You can edit or remove any of it before sending.
- We use emails only to answer you and fix problems; we do not use them for anything else or share them with third parties.
- The app may occasionally show Google Play's in-app review card. Ratings and reviews are handled by Google Play, and the app does not receive their content.
7. Retention and deletion
| Data | Retention | How to delete |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress (level reached, best time, score and stars per level, tutorial completion) and settings (sound, vibration, timer and combo display) | Stored only in the app's private storage on your device and never transmitted | Removed when you clear the app's data in Android Settings or uninstall the app. |
| Banked hints and ownership of purchased items | Stored only on your device and never sent to us. Google Play keeps the purchase record itself | Removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Remove ads is restored from Google Play; banked hints are not. |
| Records used to space out ads (levels cleared, launch count, dates, time of the last ads, ads shown today) and review prompt records | Stored only on your device and never transmitted | Removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. |
| Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics, from version 1.2.1) | Kept for the Google Analytics data retention period (up to 14 months) | Uninstalling the app removes the app instance ID, so later data is not linked to it. You can ask us to delete existing data at the contact below. |
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, from version 1.2.1) | Kept for 90 days | Deleted automatically after the retention period. |
| Advertising data | According to Google's and Liftoff's policies | You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings. Where consent is required, you can change your choice under Privacy settings in the pause menu. |
| Feedback emails you send us | Kept in our mailbox for as long as needed to answer and handle your request | You can ask us to delete them using the contact details below. |
We have no access to your game progress, banked hints or ad spacing records, so there is nothing of that kind held outside your device for us to show you or delete.
8. Your rights
You can do the following yourself or by request:
- Where consent is required, change your ad consent choice under Privacy settings in the pause menu
- Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android Settings
- Ask us to access or delete emails you sent us using the contact details below. Google and Liftoff process the data handled by the ad SDKs, so for that data we point you to their procedures.
9. Third-party services used
The app uses these third-party services:
